More than 85 juried artists will fill Center and Main streets in downtown Northville Friday, Aug. 14, as the Northville Art House Art Market kicks off a three-day run through Sunday, Aug. 16.
Admission is free.
The market brings together artists from 16 Michigan counties and six states. More than half hail from Metro Detroit, and over 80 percent call Michigan home. Mediums range from ceramics and glass to jewelry, woodworking, metalwork and printmaking.
Among the exhibitors: Paul King (drawing and pastels), Aron Kapembeza of Zim-Ibwe Sculptures (metal and sculpture), Paige Lee of The Potters Grove (ceramics), Virginie Rolland of Earth Jewelry, Shreya Shankar of Chitraka – The Art Studio (painting) and Mary Lou and Billy Becker of Floating Leaf (3-D mixed media).

Saturday highlights
Saturday is the market's biggest day. Art Market Awards will be announced at 10:30 a.m., recognizing outstanding artists and booths. Lily Bowen performs live in Town Square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Anne Domini takes the stage from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The Interactive Art Activity Tent, led by artist Stacy Pearson and sponsored by Orin Jewelers, gives families a hands-on creative stop between browsing booths.
Food and community
Five food vendors line the route: Parisa Cafe Co. (coffee), The Custard Hut (frozen custard), The Great Bread Company, Almonds R Nuts (roasted nuts) and Whole Enchilada (Mexican cuisine). Community partners Tipping Point Theatre and the Rotary Club of Northville also have booths.
"We're excited to welcome visitors from across Metro Detroit to experience the incredible talent of our participating artists and everything downtown Northville has to offer," creative director Ryan Kaltenbach said in an announcement ahead of the event.
