Northville District Library's Board of Trustees will take up a library expansion update and four policy reviews at its Thursday, Oct. 22, meeting.
The board meets at 7 p.m. in the Carlo Meeting Room at 212 W. Cady St. The meeting is open to the public, and residents may speak during the public comment period, according to the library's Board of Trustees page.
The posted agenda lists a library expansion update as a standalone item. The board directed library director Laura Mancini in May to contact Northville City Manager George Lahanas about acquiring part of the green space next to the library. The goal is a possible building expansion, according to May 28 board meeting minutes.
No decision on the library's future space has been made, the library states on its space planning page.
Thursday's agenda also includes second readings of policies on collection development and controversial materials and programs. Two policies, one on complaint reporting and one on social media, are listed for first readings. The agenda includes a director's report, a Friends of the Northville District Library report and a budget and finance review.
Residents who want to contact board members before the meeting can reach Mancini at 248-349-3020 or [email protected]. Board Chair Carol Doyle leads the seven-member board.
