Northville school board member Lisa McIntyre has joined six other Democratic state House candidates in calling for political leaders to condemn campaign harassment and intimidation.

In an Oct. 26 joint statement, the candidates alleged that advertisements and text messages circulated personal phone numbers alongside claims they described as false or misleading.

The statement appears on fellow candidate Katrina Manetta’s campaign website. It presents the candidates’ allegations, rather than independently verified findings.

McIntyre is the treasurer of the Northville Public Schools Board of Education. The district’s board page lists her current term as 2025-2028 and her previous term as 2021-2024.

She is running against Republican Casey J. Noce for Michigan House District 22, according to the state’s official candidate list.

The other statement signers are Jaime Churches, Alex Hawkins, Jan Maino, Katrina Manetta, Sarah Pounds and Joanna Whaley.

“This is not normal political opposition. It is dangerous, and it needs to stop,” the candidates said.

They asked House Speaker Matt Hall and other Republican leaders to denounce what they described as tactics encouraging harassment, including publicizing private phone numbers. The statement expressly says the candidates are not alleging that Hall personally directed threats.

The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
