Novi Rotary's Feed the Need summer lunch program held its annual community service day at Paradise Park on Tuesday, Aug. 11, bringing volunteers together to serve food-insecure children during the weeks when school meals aren't available.

The event, billed as "Novi Rotary Cares at Paradise Park," ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the facility at 45799 Grand River Ave. Tom Kavanagh is listed as the event contact on the club's calendar.

Feed the Need is Novi Rotary's largest annual service project, giving families in Novi and surrounding communities free access to food, extra education and activities during summer, according to the club's website. The program targets a critical gap: food-insecure children who rely on school as their only daily meal source lose that lifeline once classes end.

The club's next major effort is a beer tent at the Michigan State Fair at Vibe Credit Union Showplace, running Sept. 3–7. As we reported Aug. 7, Novi Rotary is recruiting volunteers through a circulating roster.
