Northville families can grab a paddle and try pickleball at the RALLY FOR REC Pickleball Carnival on Saturday, July 25, from 2-8 p.m.

Northville Parks & Recreation is hosting an afternoon event, which packages three activities into one outing: learn-to-play instruction for beginners, a kids' carnival with pickleball-themed games and prizes, and a tournament open to players of every age and skill level.

Food will also be available on site.

What to expect

Players who have never touched a paddle can get coached on the basics during the learn-to-play sessions. Kids get their own carnival zone with games and a chance to win prizes. More experienced players can enter the tournament bracket, which welcomes all skill levels.

The event is organized by NP&R, the joint parks and recreation department serving both the City of Northville and Northville Township. Director Derek O. Smith leads the department, which saw registered-program participation rise 20% in 2024, according to a September 2025 department announcement.
