Comedian Jim Gaffigan will sign bottles and pose for photos at Total Wine & More in Novi on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The eight-time Grammy-nominated comedian and actor will appear at the store, 21071 Haggerty Rd., from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Fans who purchase a bottle of Fathertime Bourbon, the small-batch brand Gaffigan co-founded in 2024, will get his autograph on the bottle and a photo with him.
"It's like one step from the guy making beer in his basement," Gaffigan told MLive, calling Fathertime a passion project he has worked on for a couple of years.
Gaffigan launched Fathertime with college friend Stu Pollard, a Louisville-based indie film director, according to Garden & Gun. In an October 2025 profile, Gaffigan said he turned to bourbon after finding beer too filling as he got older. He is hands-on in selecting and blending barrels for each release. The brand bottles each batch in a standard proof and a higher-proof "Empty Nester" strength, with each release named for some facet of Gaffigan's perspective as a dad.
The Novi stop comes during a busy stretch for Gaffigan. He appeared at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival on Saturday, Sept. 12, and his "Everything is Wonderful" stand-up tour hits Detroit's Fox Theatre twice this week: Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. Tickets for both Fox Theatre shows are available through Ticketmaster.
Total Wine & More announced the Novi event on its official X account on Sept. 10.
Entry to the store is free, but the autograph and photo require a Fathertime Bourbon purchase.
Fans planning to attend both the signing and the Saturday night Fox Theatre show will have about three hours between events. That leaves time to grab dinner.
