The Northville Farmers Market landed on a statewide list of Michigan's eight must-visit farm stands and markets, published July 24, on the travel site TakingTheKids.com.
Writer Theodore Hawthorne's roundup highlighted the market at 550 W. Seven Mile Road for its Michigan-grown produce, food trucks, and live music, according to the Patch AM newsletter for Northville, which featured the listing on Saturday, July 25. Seven other Michigan farm stands also made the list.
The market operates on a site the Northville City Council purchased for $1 million in March 2023. Council members approved buying the former McDonald Ford property at Seven Mile and Main Street specifically to give the weekly market a permanent home, according to the Plymouth Voice, which reported the purchase at the time.
What to expect
The Northville Chamber of Commerce manages the market, which runs every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday, October 29. Admission is free.
Shoppers can browse flowers, produce, honey, plants, handcrafted goods, and baked treats from Michigan growers and artisans, according to the Chamber's market page. Food trucks serve lunch while live musicians perform.
Each Thursday also features a rotating "Community Connections" booth where a different local nonprofit introduces itself to market-goers. The booth gives residents a chance to learn about organizations working in the Northville and Novi area.
