Northville's varsity boys soccer team fell 2-1 to Novi-based Detroit Catholic Central on Tuesday, Sept. 8, while the Mustangs' JV squad shut out the Shamrocks 2-0.

The split came in a non-conference rivalry matchup between two of the area's top programs. Catholic Central reached the Division 1 regional final in October 2025 before losing 1-0 to Clarkston.

Northville Athletic Director Brian Samulski posted both final scores on the Northville Athletics account on X. No goal scorers, assists or other game details were available for either contest.

The varsity loss follows a 3-0 defeat to Troy Athens on Aug. 20 in the Mustangs' season opener. Head coach Henry Klimes struck a patient tone after that game.

"You don't want to start with a loss, but we'll see how it goes game in and game out," Klimes told The Oakland Press after the Troy Athens defeat.

The JV result was a bright spot. Northville's younger players blanked Catholic Central 2-0.
