The 15th Annual Golf for Courage returns to Salem Hills Golf Club on Saturday, August 8, raising money for Southeast Michigan children living with serious medical conditions.

The charity tournament, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. at the Northville course on Six Mile Road, benefits Courageous Kids, a Plymouth-based nonprofit founded in 2010. Registration costs $125 per person or $500 per foursome, according to the organization's Facebook page. Sponsorship packages are also available.

Courageous Kids organizes outings for families facing life-threatening childhood diagnoses. Past events have included baseball games, movie screenings, and Disney on Ice shows, giving kids and their parents time together outside hospital walls.

"When we go to any event it allows us to forget about all the medical issues my son has to deal with daily," Farrah, a parent in the program, wrote in a testimonial on the organization's website.

Salem Hills is an 18-hole championship course designed by Michigan architect Bruce Matthews that opened in 1963. The course sits at 8810 W. Six Mile Road.
