Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kyra Sedgwick will appear at Motor City Comic Con's November event in Novi, according to MLive.
Sedgwick, best known for her lead role on the TNT crime drama "The Closer," is scheduled to attend on Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday, Nov. 15. The three-day convention runs Nov. 13–15 at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave.
She joins a guest roster that already includes Martin Sheen, William Fichtner, Michael Cudlitz, Shawn Hatosy, James Lafferty and Chad Michael Murray, among others. MLive described the convention as Michigan's largest pop culture event.
Tickets are on sale.
Sedgwick's credits also include "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Something to Talk About." Her autograph and photo-op pricing had not been posted as of Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Motor City Comic Con, founded in 1989, has held its conventions at the Novi showplace since 2005. The venue was formerly known as the Suburban Collection Showplace.
Beth Burland, president of Motor City Comic Con, has emphasized the event's family appeal. In a Sept. 7 Oakland Press article announcing a kids' art contest for the same convention, Burland said the event "has always been a place where fans of all ages can celebrate the characters, stories, and creativity they love."
That contest invites children ages 12 and under to submit original artwork for the cover of the November Kids' Program Guide. Entries are accepted through Monday, Sept. 28, and the grand prize winner receives a family four-pack of convention passes and Emagine Theatres tickets.
Beyond celebrity appearances, the convention features Artist Alley, a cosplay contest, trivia competitions, a pinball zone and panels. The full programming schedule is expected by Oct. 30, according to the event's website.
Advance tickets are available through the convention's ticketing page. A Saturday adult pass costs $48, and children's passes start at $5 on Friday.
