The Novi Police Department will park a pink cruiser at seven community events starting Friday, Sept. 25, collecting donations for breast cancer patients.

The minimum donation is $5. For that, residents can write the name of a loved one or a message for someone affected by breast cancer on the vehicle's pink panels. All proceeds go to the Believe in Miracles Fund at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital, according to a Novi Police flyer.

The fund covers groceries, utility bills, medical supplies and transportation for cancer patients in treatment, according to a Henry Ford Health Foundation newsletter published in summer 2025. One patient, a single mother, said in the newsletter that the assistance "… lifted our lives."

In 2024, the Believe in Miracles Fund provided $51,200 in financial assistance to 133 cancer patients across Henry Ford Providence hospitals in Novi and Southfield, according to the foundation newsletter.

The cruiser's full schedule runs through Saturday, Oct. 24:

  • Friday, Sept. 25–Sunday, Sept. 27: International Women's Show at Vibe Credit Union Showplace (Friday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.)
  • Friday, Oct. 2: Ladies Night at Farmer John's Greenhouse, 5:30–8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 4: Pumpkinfest at MSU Tollgate, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 4: Pink Out at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk, 3–6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 10: Sam's Club in Novi, 9 a.m.–noon
  • Sunday, Oct. 11: Kroger in Novi, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24: Streets of Treats in Downtown Northville, 10 a.m.–noon

The final stop, Streets of Treats, is a Halloween tradition on Main and Center streets where children trick-or-treat at downtown Northville businesses.

The pink car campaign is not new to Novi. In October 2023, Novi Director of Public Safety Erick Zinser wrote on X that the cruiser had raised nearly $5,000 by mid-month that year. No fundraising total or goal for the 2026 campaign has been announced.

Residents who cannot attend an event in person can donate by scanning a QR code on the department's flyer, available at cityofnovi.org. The Novi Police Department can be reached at (248) 348-7100.
