The Novi Police Department’s Pink Patrol cruiser is scheduled to stop at Novi Ice Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 27, where residents can sign the vehicle and support breast cancer patients at a local hospital.
For a minimum $5 donation, community members can write the name of a loved one or a message of hope on the cruiser’s pink panels, according to a Novi Youth Hockey Association announcement. The signing runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the arena, 42400 Nick Lidstrom Drive. Novi police officers will be on hand to meet attendees.
Donations support the Believe in Miracles Fund at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital. The fund helps cancer patients facing financial difficulties pay everyday expenses, according to Henry Ford Health.
“You get your cancer diagnosis, a lot of times you might not be able to work, and a lot of things start to fall behind …” Christa Williams, major gifts officer for the Providence Foundation, told C & G Newspapers in October. “Whether it be rent or transportation or groceries or utility bills, we pay those things directly.”
Williams said the fund assisted 189 people in 2024 and that the number has been increasing each year.
Residents who cannot attend can find an online donation link on the Novi Youth Hockey Association’s event page.
